The First Day — İlk Gün

Burak has just finished university in Ankara. Now he has got his first job in London. He is going to work for a small design company. On Monday morning, he woke up at six o'clock. He was more nervous than before his final exams.

He put on his new blue shirt and left. While he was waiting at the bus stop, it got windy. A woman next to him was holding a lot of papers. Suddenly the wind took the papers out of her hands. They flew all over the busy street. Burak didn't think twice and ran after them. He caught the papers one by one. "Thank you so much!" the woman said. "These are very important for my meeting today."

When Burak turned around, his bus was leaving. He had to wait for the next one. He arrived at the office fifteen minutes late. "This is a terrible start," he thought.

The receptionist smiled and took him to a meeting room. Six people were sitting around a big table. Burak said sorry and sat down quietly. A few minutes later, the door opened. The woman from the bus stop walked in! She was holding the same papers.

"Good morning, everyone. I'm Clare, the team manager," she said. Then she looked at Burak and laughed. "And this is Burak, our new designer," she said. "He has already saved my presentation this morning." Everyone laughed, and Burak's face went red. "You weren't late," Clare said. "You were helping your manager."

After the meeting, she showed him his new desk. On it there was a cup of coffee and a note. The note said, "Welcome to the team, and thank you!" Burak's first day wasn't so terrible after all.
