Present Perfect: just / yet / already · Past Simple ile farkı
Metin: Is everything ready?
Ece Ankara'da bir organizasyon şirketinde çalışıyor. Yarın İngiltere'den bir grup misafir gelecek. Yöneticisi Mark, telefonla arayıp iş listesini kontrol ediyor. Metinde [[just]], [[already]] ve [[yet]] sözcüklerinin yerine ve Mark'ın sorularında zaman belirtilince ([[When did you…?]]) Past Simple'a geçildiğine dikkat edin.
Mark: Hi, Ece. I'm calling about tomorrow. Is everything ready?
Merhaba Ece. Yarın için arıyorum. Her şey hazır mı?
Ece: Almost. I've just finished the program for the first day.
Neredeyse. İlk günün programını az önce bitirdim.
Mark: Great. Have you booked the hotel yet?
Harika. Oteli ayırttın mı?
Ece: Yes, I've already booked it. I booked it on Monday.
Evet, çoktan ayırttım. Pazartesi ayırttım.
Mark: On Monday? That was fast! And the bus from the airport?
Pazartesi mi? Çok hızlıymış! Ya havalimanından otobüs?
Ece: I've called the company, but they haven't sent the contract yet.
Firmayı aradım ama sözleşmeyi henüz göndermediler.
Mark: When did you call them?
Onları ne zaman aradın?
Ece: I called them this morning, at nine. Oh, wait. I've just received an email. It's the contract!
Bu sabah saat dokuzda aradım. Ah, bekle. Az önce bir e-posta geldi. Sözleşme bu!
Mark: Perfect timing! What about the restaurant for dinner?
Tam zamanında! Peki akşam yemeği için restoran?
Ece: I haven't chosen it yet. I've found three good places, but I haven't decided.
Henüz seçmedim. Üç güzel yer buldum ama karar vermedim.
Mark: Can you send me the list? I've been to some restaurants in Ankara.
Listeyi bana gönderebilir misin? Ankara'da bazı restoranlara gittim.
Ece: Sure. I've already sent it! Check your inbox.
Tabii. Çoktan gönderdim bile! Gelen kutuna bak.
Mark: Oh, yes, it's here. I've just opened it. The second one looks nice.
Ah, evet, burada. Az önce açtım. İkincisi güzel görünüyor.
Ece: I agree. I ate there last month. The food was excellent.
Katılıyorum. Geçen ay orada yemek yedim. Yemekler mükemmeldi.
Mark: Good. Have the guests paid for the tour yet?
Güzel. Misafirler tur ücretini ödedi mi?
Ece: Yes, they paid last week. Everything's OK. Don't worry!
Evet, geçen hafta ödediler. Her şey yolunda. Merak etme!
Dilbilgisi
just: az önce
Az önce, çok yakın zamanda olmuş bir şeyi anlatmak için have / has + just + 3. hâl kullanılır. Türkçedeki “az önce …-dım”, “yeni …-dım” ifadesinin karşılığıdır. Olayın sonucu genellikle şu anda görülür ya da hissedilir: e-posta şimdi gelen kutusundadır, program şimdi hazırdır.
- I've just finished the program. — Programı az önce bitirdim.
- She's just arrived at the airport. — O havalimanına yeni vardı.
- We've just received an email. — Az önce bir e-posta aldık.
- The bus has just left. — Otobüs az önce kalktı.
💡 just her zaman have / has ile 3. hâlin arasına girer: I've just eaten. Bu ünitede just “az önce” demektir; “sadece” anlamındaki just (just one coffee) ile karıştırmayın.
⚠️ Türklerin tipik hatası: “az önce”yi sona koymak ya da justi yanlış yere yerleştirmek: I've finished just. ✗ Just I've finished. ✗ I just have finished. ✗ → I've just finished. ✓ Bir de “az önce”yi a few minutes ago gibi zaman ifadesiyle Present Perfect'te kullanmak: I've finished ten minutes ago. ✗ → I finished ten minutes ago. ✓ (ago varsa Past Simple)
already: çoktan, zaten
already bir şeyin beklenenden önce ya da karşıdakinin sandığından önce olduğunu anlatır: “çoktan”, “zaten”, “… bile”. Olumlu cümlede kullanılır ve just gibi have / has ile 3. hâlin arasına girer.
- I've already booked the hotel. — Oteli çoktan ayırttım.
- Don't send the list. I've already sent it. — Listeyi gönderme. Ben zaten gönderdim.
- They've already paid for the tour. — Tur ücretini çoktan ödediler.
- Is Mark here already? — Mark şimdiden burada mı? (şaşkınlık)
💡 Şaşkınlık bildiren kısa sorularda already cümlenin sonuna da gelebilir: Have you finished already? (Bitirdin mi bile? / Bu kadar çabuk mu?) Bu, normal bir soru değil, şaşırmayı gösterir.
⚠️ Türklerin tipik hatası: alreadyyi olumsuz cümlede “henüz” anlamında kullanmak: I haven't already finished. ✗ → I haven't finished yet. ✓ already olumlu, yet olumsuz ve soru cümlelerinin sözcüğüdür. Yazımda da allready ✗ all ready (hepsi hazır) ile karıştırmayın: already ✓ tek “l”.
yet: henüz · … mı?
yet olumsuz cümlede “henüz”, soru cümlesinde ise “(beklediğim şey) oldu mu?” anlamı verir. just ve alreadyden farklı olarak cümlenin sonuna gelir. Türkçede soru cümlesindeki yet çoğu zaman çevrilmez.
| İngilizce | Cümle türü | Türkçe |
|---|---|---|
| I haven't chosen it yet. | Olumsuz | Henüz seçmedim. |
| They haven't sent the contract yet. | Olumsuz | Sözleşmeyi henüz göndermediler. |
| Have you booked the hotel yet? | Soru | Oteli ayırttın mı? |
| Has the bus arrived yet? | Soru | Otobüs geldi mi? |
| Not yet. | Kısa cevap | Henüz değil. |
“Hâlâ … -madım” diyerek sabırsızlığı ya da gecikmeyi vurgulamak için still kullanılır; still yardımcı fiilin önüne gelir: I still haven't finished. (Hâlâ bitirmedim.)
💡 Kısa cevaplar: Have you finished yet? — Yes, I have. / Yes, I've just finished. / No, not yet. / No, I haven't.
⚠️ Türklerin tipik hatası: Türkçede “henüz” fiilden önce geldiği için yeti ortaya koymak: I haven't yet chosen. (çok resmî, konuşmada kullanılmaz) I yet haven't chosen. ✗ → I haven't chosen yet. ✓ Ayrıca yeti olumlu cümlede kullanmak: I've finished yet. ✗ → I've already finished. ✓
Cümlede yer: just / already / yet / still
|---|---|---|
| I've just sent it. | have + just + 3. hâl | Az önce gönderdim. |
| I've already sent it. | have + already + 3. hâl | Çoktan gönderdim. |
| I haven't sent it yet. | cümle sonu | Henüz göndermedim. |
| Have you sent it yet? | cümle sonu | Gönderdin mi? |
| I still haven't sent it. | still + haven't | Hâlâ göndermedim. |
- The guests have just arrived. — Misafirler az önce geldi.
- Ece has already made the program. — Ece programı çoktan hazırladı.
- Mark hasn't called the restaurant yet. — Mark restoranı henüz aramadı.
- We still haven't received the contract. — Sözleşmeyi hâlâ almadık.
⚠️ Türklerin tipik hatası: sözcükleri yer değiştirerek kullanmak: I've yet sent it. ✗ I haven't sent it already. ✗ I haven't still sent it. ✗ → I've already sent it. ✓ I haven't sent it yet. ✓ I still haven't sent it. ✓ Kural cümlesini ezberleyin: “just, already ortada; yet sonda; still başta.”
|---|---|---|
| just, already, yet, still | yesterday, last week, last year | Past Simple zamanı bitmiş dönemdir |
| ever, never, before | two days ago, an hour ago | ago her zaman Past Simple |
| today, this week, this year (bitmemişse) | in 2020, on Monday, at nine | belirli tarih, gün, saat |
| How many times…? | When…? / What time…? | When ile Present Perfect olmaz |
- I've booked the hotel. (Now it's ready.) — Oteli ayırttım. (Şimdi hazır.)
- I booked the hotel on Monday. — Oteli pazartesi ayırttım.
- Have you called the company? — Yes. I called them this morning. — Firmayı aradın mı? — Evet. Bu sabah aradım.
- I've lost my keys. (I can't open the door.) — Anahtarlarımı kaybettim. (Kapıyı açamıyorum.)
- I lost my keys last week, but I found them. — Geçen hafta anahtarlarımı kaybettim ama buldum.
💡 this morning öğleden önce söylenirse dönem bitmemiştir ve Present Perfect mümkündür: I've drunk two coffees this morning. Öğleden sonra söylenirse sabah bitmiştir; Past Simple gelir: I drank two coffees this morning. Diyalogda Ece belirli bir saat verdiği için Past Simple kullanıyor: I called them this morning, at nine.
⚠️ Türklerin tipik hatası 1: belirli zaman ifadesiyle Present Perfect kullanmak: I have booked the hotel on Monday. ✗ She has arrived yesterday. ✗ → I booked the hotel on Monday. ✓ She arrived yesterday. ✓
⚠️ Türklerin tipik hatası 2: When ile Present Perfect soru sormak: When have you called them? ✗ → When did you call them? ✓ When her zaman belirli bir zaman sorar; bu yüzden Past Simple gerektirir.
Amerikan ve İngiliz kullanımı · sınavlarda hangisi?
Günlük Amerikan konuşmasında just, already ve yet Past Simple ile de sık duyulur: Did you eat yet?, I just saw him., I already did it. İngiliz İngilizcesinde ve resmî yazıda ise Present Perfect tercih edilir: Have you eaten yet?, I've just seen him., I've already done it.
| Amerikan konuşma dili | Standart / İngiliz | Türkçe |
|---|---|---|
| Did you eat yet? | Have you eaten yet? | Yemek yedin mi? |
| I just got home. | I've just got home. | Eve az önce geldim. |
| I already sent it. | I've already sent it. | Zaten gönderdim. |
💡 Amerikalı biriyle konuşurken I just saw it gibi bir cümle duyarsanız bunu hata saymayın. Ancak YDS, YÖKDİL ve okul sınavlarında just / already / yet ile Present Perfect beklenir; siz de yazarken bunu kullanın.
⚠️ Türklerin tipik hatası: İki kullanımı karıştırıp yarım bir yapı kurmak: I have just saw him. ✗ Did you have eaten yet? ✗ → I've just seen him. ✓ Have you eaten yet? ✓ (ya da konuşmada I just saw him. / Did you eat yet?) have varsa 3. hâl, did varsa fiilin yalın hâli gelir.
